An Israeli study1, carried out in Tel Aviv in 1999 at the Sourasky Medical Centre’s, Department of Urology, confirmed a positive correlation between erectile dysfunction and nitric oxide deficiency (which is important because it dilates the blood vessels in the male body and thus enables erection in men). Men who have problems with erectile dysfunction due to a lack of nitric oxide in the body can significantly improve their sexual function by consuming L-arginine. Another study conducted in New York2 also confirmed that L-arginine improves sexual function in men with mild erectile dysfunction.
A study conducted in Italy in 2009 on men with mild erectile dysfunction3 found positive effects of maca on erectile dysfunction. Men who consumed maca achieved better results than those in the placebo group.
A study conducted in Switzerland 4 in 2012 showed that the consumption of palmetto in older men with enlarged prostate and erectile dysfunction has a very positive effect on the elimination of erection problems.
A study by the Department of Urology at the University of Hong Kong5 found that men with moderate and high erectile dysfunction and dyslipidemia with niacin use can greatly improve their sexual function.
The main influence of roseroot on the problems associated with erectile dysfunction is that it increases energy and stamina 8,9,10, which contributes to longer sexual intercourse. A study in Newcastle11 confirms that energy and endurance are also improved by guarana, which, in addition to physical impairment, also reduces mental fatigue and increases cognitive performance.
A study carried out in 2002 by the Department of Physiology at the University of Illinois’ College of Medicine found that ginseng enables better erection by accelerating blood circulation and releasing erectile tissue.12 The positive effect of ginseng was confirmed by many other studies, as men with ginseng had fewer problems with erectile dysfunction and were more sexually aroused than men in the placebo group.13,14,15,16
A 2011 study in Brisbane
6 also confirmed the positive influence of Fenugreek on the physiological properties of the libido. Men who consumed Fenugreek had a stronger orgasm and were more sexually aroused than the men in the control group. Besides increasing arousal and preventing erectile dysfunction, consuming Tribulus also helps.
